He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Wharton and Flossie Wharton (Taylor); and his wife Barbara Jean "B. J.". He is survived by: his children, Michael Wharton, David Wharton (Heidi) and Christina Jett; his grandchildren, Blake Wharton, Braeden Wharton, Indya Trahan, Ivan Trahan, Ireland Adkins and Iyla Adkins; and his siblings, John Wharton, Laura Miller and Rose Wharton. He is also survived by extended family members and friends.
