He was predeceased by: his parents, Joan Pell Hood and Donald P. Hood. He is survived by: his daughter Katie Vickery (Ike); his grandchildren, Levon Vickery, Hayes Vickery and Boris Vickery; his close friend Kathy Bennett Hood; his sister Kelly Short (Sam); his nephews, Josh Short (Jessica Hall) and Ryan Short (Bridgette); and his sister-in-law Sharon Jones (Ray). He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Lawson-Miller Chapel (1702 E National Ave, Brazil, IN 47834). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
