He was predeceased by: his parents, Doyne Emerson and Hila Marie Reed (Piety). He is survived by: his wife Maryann Reed (Trout); his children, Dr. Alicia Reed, Thomas (Scot) and Dr. Alan Reed (Dianna Knox); his grandchildren, Logan Thomas and Lauren Horn (Rhys); his sister Linda Gonzalez (Cuitlahuac); his niece Suzanne Stringham (Lee); and his nephew Curtis Wadsworth (Katie).
