He was predeceased by: his fathers, Raymond Purcell and Cecil Purcell (Trout); his wives, Ruth Ann Purcell and Margaret Zenor Brown Purcell; and his siblings, Ruby, Raymond and Paul.
He is survived by: his sons, Jerry Purcell (Tammie) and James "Jim" Purcell (Chantel); his grandchildren, Jeri Lynn Neimerg (Ted), Matthew Ryan Purcell (Allysa), Andrew Colt Purcell (Beatrice), Jacob Purcell (Jenna Smith), Ashley Cannon (Robert) and Andrea Nees (Ryan); and his great grandchildren, Lila, Tate, Charlotte, Daniel, Harper, Tucker, Kyler, Lincoln, Brinley, Eimy, Myla and Max. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Lawson-Miller Chapel (1702 E National Ave, Brazil, IN 47834). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
