He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Smith and Dorothy Smith (Wagley); and his wife Loretta Huff. He is survived by: his children, Susan Smith of Nappanee, Barbara Metzler (Dan) of Nappanee and Devon Smith (Kay) of Bremen; his grandchildren, Kristy Anderson, Jennifer Miller (Trent), Jaclyn Blackford (Scott), Josh Metzler (Laura), Jalayne Coblentz (Jared), Haley Metzler (Jess) and Staci Hoover (James); his half-sister Ann Gilbert; his sister-in-law June Smith; and his caregiver Geri. He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 27th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Mishler Funeral Home (2030 IN-331, Bremen, IN 46506). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 27th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, April 27th 2026 at the Bremen Cemetery (100 E 2nd St, Bremen, IN 46506).
In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial contributions to be made to Community Hospital of Bremen, 1020 High Rd. Bremen, IN 46506.
