He was predeceased by: his parents, William VanWinkle and Glessie VanWinkle (Beard); his wife Jacqueline VanWinkle (Patmore); and his siblings, James, Radie, Seddie, Gladys Elverd, Dorothy Hayes and Nelly Mullen.
He is survived by: his children, Russell VanWinkle (Lavonne) and Cathy Tedrow (Perry); his grandsons, Christopher VanWinkle (Lamanda) and Charles Patrick VanWinkle (Cassandra); his brother Robert VanWinkle; and his great grandchildren, Aliyah, Garett, Jason, Hank VanWinkle, Landyn Adkins, Madelyn Keown and Lukas Adkins.
