Joan L. Sterling Obituary
We are sad to announce that on October 19, 2025, at the age of 94, Joan L. Sterling of Brookston, Indiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Grover Edward "Ted" and Mary Viola Behr (Lineback); her husband Robert Max Sterling; her children, Ted Robert Sterling and Susan "Susie" Joan Cottrell; her grandson Jamie Sterling; and her brother Phillip Lineback Behr.
She is survived by: her daughter Jan Ewing (Nevin) of Frankfort; her granddaughter Stacie Lowe (Greg Spires) of Brookston; and her caregivers, Nicki Ewing of Frankfort, Kristy Sterling Dixon of Florida, Cal Ewing of Frankfort, Dustin Sterling (Tia) of Sheridan and Craig Cottrell of Indiana. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, a niece and three nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Goodwin Funeral Home (200 S Main St, Frankfort, IN 46041). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
