He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Thomas Capper and Golda Oilar Capper; his wife Janet L. Capper of Brookston; his daughters, Melissa (Phillip Kaldahl), Andrea (Kenny Crawford) and Sandy (Brent Culver); and his sister Theresa (Pab Caudillo).
