He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Brooks and Virginia Brooks (Stingley); his wife Betty; and his son Joseph Brooks. He is survived by: his son Troy Brooks; his brother William Brooks of Indianapolis; and his nephew Matthew Brooks of Indianapolis.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in honor of Tabor to the Brookston United Methodist Church.
