It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan M. (Varnau) Hellmann (Brownsburg, Indiana), who passed away on March 3, 2026, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Varnau and Bertha Varnau (Hardebeck); her siblings, Richard, Regina, Wilbur and Marjorie; and her son-in-law Steve.
She is survived by: her husband U. Leo Hellmann of Patrick's Catholic Church; her brothers, Tom and Mark; and her children, Greg (Cindy), Maureen, Fred (Shelly) and Jim (Janet). She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren.
