Vernis L. Godfrey Obituary

We announce the death of Vernis L. Godfrey (Brownsburg, Indiana), who passed away on August 27, 2026, at the age of 94. Vernis will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Godfrey and Cletus Godfrey; and his brother William Godfrey. He is survived by: his wife Ramona Godfrey; his daughter Linda Heimert; his brother Lionel Godfrey; his children, Judith Hoffman (Chris), Gary Godfrey (Joanna) and Teresa Pugh (Steven); and his siblings, James Godfrey, Mitchell Godfrey, Vivian Ford, Madge Bost, Eva Eubanks and Patricia Stacey. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

A graveside service was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Brownsburg Cemetery.
