Carl H. Shake Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Carl H. Shake of Brownstown, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 15, 2026 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert Shake and Vera Jennings Shake; and his brothers, Bill Thorne of Terre Haute and Walter Shake of Terre Haute. He is survived by: his wife Virginia "Jenny" Rose Shake (Hayne) of Brownstown; his daughters, Rhonda King (Linda) of Rockton, Jodi Myers (Perry) of Brownstown and Kelly Deck (Gregg) of Brownstown; his grandchildren, Blaine Stevens (Heather) of Brownstown, Dalton Stevens (Denise) of Brownstown, Nigel Myers (Kelsey) of Brownstown, Paige Wheeler (Brian) of Brownstown, Jordan Deck (Janelle) of Brownstown, Angie Goza (Lucas) and Angela Parent (Jennifer); his great grandchildren, Brantley Stevens, Owen Stevens, Demi Stevens, Darci Stevens, Harper Myers, Hudson Myers, Pierson Wheeler, Finley Wheeler, Willow Deck, Jones Deck, Grayson Goza, Parker Goza, Beckett Goza and Sly Parent; and his sisters-in-law, Carolyn Thorne and Marian Shake. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Through the success of Brownstown Electric and the generosity of Carl, he made openhanded donations to the following Brownstown Central High School projects: tennis court lighting, baseball field lighting, girls softball field lighting, practice football field lighting and improving the weight and locker room facility.
