Walter Joseph Solowey Jr. Obituary
We announce the death of Walter Joseph Solowey Jr. of Bunker Hill, Indiana, who passed away on September 28, 2026, at the age of 76. Walter will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter J. Sr. Solowey and Anna Marie Solowey (Sedlak). He is survived by: his children, Walter "Joe" Solowey, III (Sharon) of Galveston and Jessica Shepler (Doug) of Logansport; his grandchildren, A. J. Solowey (Matt), Parker Solowey, Scott Shepler and Sarah Shepler; and his siblings, Leanne Tirpak, Valerie Arsenault, Jeane Veazey, Tom, Mark, Kevin, Brian, Scott and Matt Solowey. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Logansport Chapel (1801 Chase Rd, Logansport, IN 46947). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Foundation Fighting Blindness to support the "Silly Seals" his granddaughter's team in the annual "Indianapolis Vision Walk" - a fundraising event he participated in annually.
