He was predeceased by: his parents, Alice Johns Hawker and Lawrence McHugh; his great grandchildren, Brooklyn Beckwith, Adeline Vitali and Abigail Troyer; his siblings, Eleanor Scott, Margaret Dillon, Joanne Hughes, Wayne Yoder, Jake Yoder, Doug Yoder and Lawrence McHugh; and his siblings-in-law, Raymond Barhydt and Barbara Kindig.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Barhydt; his children, Larry McHugh of Butler, Joe McHugh of Elkhart, Tina Irons (Chris) of Middlebury and Donna Strong (Rodney) of Butler; his grandchildren, Brigette Beckwith, Allison Vitali (DJ), Haley Troyer (Brian), Christopher Irons, Ryan Strong, Bryce Strong, Gavin Strong, Amelia Strong and Leeanna Main; and his siblings, Jean Watson (Duane) of Shipshewana, Pat Burkhead of Sturgis, Michigan, Joyce Gerber (Bob) of Bronson, Michigan, Howard Yoder (Loretta) of LaGrange and Leonard McHugh (Linda) of Elmira. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
