She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth Runyon and Fannie Runyon (Neal); her former husband Charles Smith, Sr.; her husband George Rafferty; her son Charles Smith, Jr.; her grandson Christopher Smith; and her siblings, Bobby, Elmer, Daniel Runyon and Diana Runyon.
She is survived by: her children, David Lee Smith (Devonna) of Glasgow, Kentucky, Elizabeth Carol DeBord (Brian) of Freetown and Mary Ellen Hounshell of Glasgow, Kentucky; and her siblings, Kenneth Runyon (Janice) of Danville, Ruben Runyon (Shirley) of Glasgow, Haskell Runyon (Susie) of Glasgow, Timothy Runyon of Georgia and Gaye Wampler (Thomas) of Glasgow, Kentucky. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made in honor of Mary through the funeral home to Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
