She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Gass and Dorothy Gass; her husband James Stephen Hill (Jim); and her siblings, Edward Gass Jr. (Ed), Patricia Norman (Patty) and Dorothy Sylvester (Dottie).

She is survived by: her sister Rosemary Johnson (Susie); her children, Jim Hill (Kimberly) of Carmel, Indiana., Susan Barrett (Joe) of Carmel, Indiana., Jenne Moore (Scott) of Carmel, Indiana. and Christine Werner (Jody) of Carmel, Indiana.; her close friend Ellie; and her pets, Queenie, Cocoa, Riley, Vegas and Darco. She is also survived by children and grandchildren, Mom and Dad.

Mom remained a caretaker at heart, even as Alzheimer's slowly changed her world. She battled Alzheimer's for nearly a decade, while Dad lovingly (and patiently!) cared for her at home, with occasional support from Joy's House so he could run errands or take a short break.
