He was predeceased by: his parents, Josephine Knoll and John Metz, Sr.; his wife Jacquoline Warner; his brother George Metz; and his children, Janet and John.
He is survived by: his daughter Judy Gilday (Richard); his grandchildren, Shaun Gilday (Ashley), Meghan Siegrist (Evan) and Caity Gilday; and his sister-in-law Rosemary Metz. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Palmer Funeral Home - Guisinger Chapel (3718 S Michigan St, South Bend, IN 46614). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
