He was predeceased by: his parents, Jozef Svec and Gabriela Svec (Brychta); and his brother Miloslav. He is survived by: his wife Josephine Svec (Gabovic); his sons, Christopher (Sarah) and Justin (Katherine); and his grandchildren, Eleanor (Samuel), William, Charlotte, Margaret, Michaela, Milo and John Paul. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
