He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernice Bennett (Jewell) and Jesse Bennett; his siblings, Tom, Tony, David, Jack Bennett, Nancy Joe Bennett, Mary Ann Vansant and Phyllis Smith; and his granddaughter Victoria Hathaway.

He is survived by: his brother Fred Bennett (Dorothy) of Oakwood, Illinois; and his grandchildren, Summer Plunkett (Dustin), Wade Bennett, Bryce Bennett and Audy McQuaid. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
