He was predeceased by: his parents, Galey Smith and Hazel Smith; his son Ted Smith; and his siblings, Honour Broughton, Chelsea Mills, Ethel Smith, R. J. Smith and Woodrow Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Terry Smith (Martha) of Cedar Grove and Beverly K. Howison (Steve) of West Harrison; and his sister Ruby Smith of Portage, Michigan.. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren.
