He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerrit Vanderbent and Grace Vanderbent; and his siblings, Janice, Marilyn (Gene) and Ronald (Joyce).
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Vanderbent; his children, Lori Kamp (Tom), Tim Vanderbent (April) and Mark Vanderbent (Ruth); his grandchildren, Kylen (Skye), Emily, Ethan (Hanna), Ali, Andrew, Amber, Brenden and Jaden (Grace); his great grandchildren, Matthew, Jay and Parker; his brothers, Ken (Connie) and David (Sally); and his brother-in-law Ray (Dianne).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the New Life Church (500 Gougar Rd, New Lenox, IL 60451). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery (20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421).
