He was predeceased by: his brother James Wendlinger; his in-laws, Gordan and Margaret MacDonald; and his parents, Charles Wendlinger and Irene Wendlinger.

He is survived by: his wife Ramona Wendlinger; his children, Brian Sliger (Jill), Elizabeth Young (Cory), Amanda Suarez (Adam) and Michael Wendlinger (Kelsey); his grandchildren, Deklan, Alyssa, Canten, Parker, Braelyn, Harlyn and Hunter; and his sister Maryann Markley (Chuck). He is also survived by his children and grandchildren.
