He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Persohn of Celestine, IN; his children, Michelle Keller (Dean) of Dubois, IN, Paul Thewes (Susie) of Celestine, IN and Duane Thewes (Courtney) of Celestine, IN; his daughter-in-law Gail Thewes of Celestine, IN; his siblings, Janice Knies (Dave) of Jasper, IN, Mary Rohleder (Steve) of Bretzville, IN, Karen Mehringer (Tony) of Schnellville, IN, Kathy Vogler (Tony) of Jasper, IN, Cheryl Haas (Kevin) of Jasper, IN, Jim Thewes (Connie) of Ireland, IN, Leon Thewes (Donna), Allen Thewes of Celestine, IN, Randy Thewes (Connie) of Celestine, IN and Kevin Thewes; and his brother-in-law Tom Fickas Sr. of Colorado Springs, CO.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Celestine Church (6864 IN-64, Eckerty, IN 47116). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Celestine Fire Department, the Celestine Park, the Celestine Community Club or to a favorite charity.
