Linus H. Tretter Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Linus H. Tretter of Celestine, Indiana, who passed away on December 7, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Christian Tretter and Mary Tretter (Schaeffer); his wife Mary Lou Hoffman; his siblings, Esther Weidenbenner (John), Ray and Urban Tretter; and his brothers-in-law, Bill Balbach and Donnie Hopf.
He is survived by: his children, Denise Schroering (Kevin) of Celestine, IN, Brian Tretter (Jill) of Huntingburg, IN, Kevin Tretter of Indianapolis, IN and Michael Tretter (Kelly) of Celestine, IN; his sisters, Irene Balbach of Haubstadt, IN, Almeda Hopf of Jasper, IN and Alice Gilson (Leo) of Jasper, IN; and his sisters-in-law, Betty Tretter of Ferdinand, IN and Judy Tretter of Huntingburg, IN. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, four great grandchildren.
