He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton Buechler and Monica Buechler (Schulz); his grandson Andy Spellmeyer; his siblings, Elmer, Clarence Buechler and Virlee Englert; and his siblings-in-law, Lou Alice Buechler, Kenny Hopf and Bill Englert.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Buechler; his children, Joyce Spellmeyer (Red) of Celestine, Carla Buechler of Celestine, Jane Bauer (Randy) of Celestine and Kris Buechler (Janel); his grandchildren, Kirstie Betz (Allen), Erin Jochum (Sean), Lauren Foltz, Seth Foltz (Jeff Hentschel), Trey Foltz (Miranda), Evan Bauer (Rebekah), Alex Bauer (Hannah), Averi Bauer, Kole Buechler and Trace Buechler; his great grandchildren, Jace Betz, Jade Jochum and Kalen Jochum; and his sisters, Lois Hopf and Lorraine Wendholt (Eddie). He is also survived by two great- grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Celestine Church (6864 Indiana 64, Celestine, IN). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's/Dementia Association, Juvenile Scleroderma Association, St Celestine Catholic Church, or the Celestine Fire Department.
