He was predeceased by: his parents, Perry J. Hughes and Garnet R. Hughes; his sister Beverly Boyle (Hughes); his sister-in-law Alecia Hughes; his niece Michelle Ann Hiner; and his great-niece Jessica Oliver.
He is survived by: his siblings, Perry W. Hughes and Pamela K. Hiner (Bruce); his nieces and nephews, Amy Vance (Jason), Anita Johnson, Joseph Hughes (Heidi), Ryan Hiner (Lauren Welton), Arron McKim and Evan McKim; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Meredith Vance (Joey Ranieri), Xavier Hughes, Vanessa Little (Michael) and Josh Oliver (Brooke).
Visitation was held on Friday, May 1st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hartzler Clapper Funeral Home (101 W 4th St, Brookston, IN 47923). A celebration of life was held on Friday, May 1st 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to light a good cigar, raise a glass, hit the golf course, or simply tell a story about the times you shared with Chuck.
