He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Day and Laura Wampler Day; his wife Elsie Day; his son Ricky Allen Day; and his siblings, James, Paul, Curtis, Mildred, Lee, Rachel, Charles, Gertrude, Carl, Ronald and Jean.
He is survived by: his daughters, Patty Wood (Doug) and Pamela Day (Tim Thorpe); his daughter-in-law Shelia Day; his grandchildren, Jeremy Day (Melissa), Jeff Day (Amanda), Nikki Miller (David), Danni Oakley (Aaron), Miranda Taylor (Darren) and Zack Wood (Kagan Jenkins); and his great grandchildren, Kelsey, Grace, Theona, Rylee, Logan, Karlee, Kassius, Rikkee, Leola, Mason and Murphy.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 21st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Grayson Funeral Home-Charlestown (893 High St, Charlestown, IN 47111). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
