He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl L. Hart Sr. and Manerva Olivia Hart (Mason); his wife Darlene Mae Clem Hart; his daughter Diane Holst; his grandchildren, Matthew Johnson and Bobbie Jo Whitenack; and his brother Delmar Mason.

He is survived by: his children, Michael Hart (Denise) of Chesterton, IN, Craig Hart (Michelle) of Chesterton, IN, Carl L. Hart III (Donna) of Chesterton, IN, Cathy Johnson of Portage, IN, Vicki Ream (Robert) of Chesterton, IN and Darla Griffith (Billy) of Chesterton, IN; his grandchildren, Jonathan Hart, Heather Scott, Ryan Begg, Brandon Hart, Tristan Hart, Samantha Marsh, Jeremy Johnson, Charity Girgenti, Michelle Levy, Jennifer Ream, Natalie House, Cody House, Shannon Feidler, Christopher Holst, Brian Holst and Aaron Holst; and his sister Shirley Cox of McRae, AR.. He is also survived by 17 his great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.
