It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Joseph Anleitner of Chesterton, Indiana, who passed away on October 28, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Anleitner and Etta Anleitner (Lucas); and his son Matthew Anleitner. He is survived by: his wife Maureen Mayo; his children, Scott Anleitner (Heidi) of Chicago, Amy Wright (Jeramie) of Westville and Mark Anleitner (Lindsay) of Valparaiso; his sisters, Susan Anleitner, Jayne Anleitner and Mary Jo Anleitner; his grandchildren, Makenna (Patrick), Cheyanne, Samantha, Addyson, Eli, Samuel and Lucas; and his great grandchildren, Levi and Lennon. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, in-laws & friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 5th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Moeller Funeral Home (104 Roosevelt Rd, Valparaiso, IN 46383). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 5th 2025 at 8:00 PM at the same location.
