As Douglas departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Douglas. Though Douglas may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He is survived by: his parents, Donald Shearer and Sharon Shearer (Sheldon); and his siblings, Edison Shearer (Melissa) and Carla Horn (Troy). He is also survived by seven nieces and nephews; and six great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel (206 N Main St, Churubusco, IN 46723). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:15 AM at the Merriam Christian Chapel Cemetery (4066 S Oak St, Albion, IN 46701).
Memorials may be directed to Blue River Covenant Brethren Church (Building Fund).
