He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Cave and Florence Cave (Long); his wife Beverly Cave (Gunterman); his siblings, Kathryn Walker and Roger Cave; and his daughter Kathryn Mary Cave.
He is survived by: his children, Bill Cave (Betty Lou) of Marshalltown, John Cave (Joanne) of Ireton, Jim Cave (Sue) of Spencerville and Susan Hirl (Michael) of Cicero, Indiana.; his siblings-in-law, Norma Kay, Marvin Everly of Grass Lake and Barbara Gunterman of Ft McCoy; and his nephews, Bruce Walker, Ken Walker, Mike Walker and Martin Walker.
Dave enjoyed woodworking, carving, and turning bowls, and would donate profits from selling the items he created to missionary work.
