James Grimes Sr. Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Grimes Sr. of Clarksville, Indiana, who passed away on July 15, 2025 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilber Grimes and Edna Grimes (Nash); and his siblings, Evelyn, Laverne, Bonita Grimes, Alvin and Dallas Grimes.
He is survived by: his wife Debbie Grimes (Moore); his children, Lisa Ralston (Chris) of Jeffersonville, Tara Townsend (Chris) of Washington, Georgia, Teri Thomas of Clarksville, Amy Speedy (Mitchell) of Jeffersonville and James Austin Grimes, Jr. (Laura) of Evansville; his grandchildren, Emma, Betsy, Avery, Lilly, Garston, Maddie, Henry, Evie, Landon, Lincoln and Grayson; his great grandchild Caspian; and his brothers, Marshall (Mona) of Henryville and John Grimes of Henryville. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to Hosparus of Southern Indiana in memory of Austin.
