He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Day and Helen Day (Michael); his stepson Larry Jeffers; his nephews, Matthew Coley and Hugh Davis; and his brother-in-law Steven Teeters.

He is survived by: his children, Courtney Day, Abby Day (Brandon Huff) and Grant Day (Caitlin); his stepchildren, Donnie Jeffers and Sara Jeffers (John Ward); his grandchildren, Andrew, Alex, Blade, Sammy, Chloe, Brevin, Carson, Nathan, Mikala, Lincoln, Charlotte, Skylar and Drake; and his sisters, Sharon Davis, Karen Teeters, Melissa Bass (Dane) and Donna Coley (Rusty).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Clay City Youth League, C/O Tyler Jenkins 1878 E. County Road 550 South Clay City, Indiana 47841.
