He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylvester Smith and Myrtle Trine (Himes); his former wife Vonda Smith (Slone); his wife Linda Smith (Kerin); his siblings, Max Smith, Phil Smith and Donna Kiser; and his stepfather Thurman Trine.
He is survived by: his children, Mike Smith (Deb) of Lakeland, Melody Hedington (Sam) of Claypool and Troy Smith (Deb) of Winona Lake; and his stepdaughter Diane Hathaway of Silver Lake. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Titus Funeral Home - Warsaw (2000 Sheridan St, Warsaw, IN 46580). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at the Oakwood Cemetery (421 N Maple Ave, Warsaw, IN 46580).
