She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Zumar and Margot Zumar (Karrer); and her stepson Steve Shearer. She is survived by: her husband John Shearer; her children, Nick Shotwell (Melissa) and Stephanie Cooper (Jeremy); her siblings, Joseph "Butch" Zumar and Fran Wright (Doug); her stepchildren, Carlyle Shearer, Johnna Kosnoff and Tony Shearer; and her grandchildren, Savannah Shotwell, Luke Shotwell, Tucker Cooper and Ryder Cooper. She is also survived by several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
