He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Short and Margie Short; his wife Anita Short; his son Rick Short; and his siblings, Ronnie, Robert, Jim Short and Dorothy Pearman.
He is survived by: his siblings, Kenneth Short, Rena Jones and Donna Kitchens; his grandchildren, Brittany Short and Trent Short; his daughter-in-law Debbie Short; and his great grandchildren, Camdyn Short, DeSean Alston, Eli Cooper, Carmen Short and Bleighton Short. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
