He was predeceased by : his parents, Laverne Pender and Gertrude Davis Pender; his son Mike Pender; and his sisters, Ruth Price and Elaine Johnson.

He is survived by : his wife Julia Bertolino Pender; his children, Ronald (Suzie Pender) and Debra Jo DiVincenzo (John) of Indianapolis; his brother Ray Pender of Indianapolis; and his grandchildren, Katrina, Samanta, Julia and Tony. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
