He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Anthony Steed and Norma Carson Steed; his son Robert E. Steed; his grandson William; and his niece Melissa Land.

He is survived by: his wife Rita (Noblitt-Muciarelli); his sister Mary Smith Long of Sullivan; his children, Tammy Fulton (Richard) of Athens, TX., John Muciarelli, Clinton and James Muciarelli (Margaret); his grandsons, Mario and Joseph Muciarelli; his great grandchildren, Alauna, Loraine Rolston, Madison and Natalie Mifflin; and his sibling's children, Kim Figg (Jeff) of Sullivan, Gary Smith (Jeanie) of Linton and Brent Smith (Debbie) of Texas.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 16th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Giovanini Funeral Home (408 Vine St, Clinton, IN 47842). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM.

Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the First Christian Church of Clinton or 19The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care.
