It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sandra S. Abernathy of Clinton, Indiana, born in Danville, Illinois, who passed away on January 6, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Albert Garwood and Farrell Garwood (West); and her siblings, Janice Eckel and Paul Becker. She is survived by : her sons, Doug Carpenter of Montezuma and R. Thomas Carpenter of Delta, CO.; her brother Larry Garwood (Sarah) of Louisville, KY; her sister-in-law Phyllis Becker of Carlin, IL; and her caregiver Kristy Decker of Terre Haute. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Parke-Vermillion Humane Society in memory of Sandra.
