He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond and Dorothy (Schmitt); and his siblings, Raymond, Michael, Thomas, Charles, Richard, Edward, Dale, Kathleen, Beatrice and Michelle.
He is survived by: his children, Don Gedert Jr. (Catherine), Lisa Gedert, Linda Hallaman (Greg) and Ray Gedert (Ellen); his grandchildren, Tony Gedert, Max Beatty (Caitlin), Jackson Beatty (Molly), Jacob Stromatt (Michael), Joseph Stromatt, Josh Stromatt (Caitlyn), Matthew Briggs (Shaunna) and Alison Briggs; and his siblings, Mary Jean McCarty (Tom) and Francis Gedert (Mary Ellen). He is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home (4 Percy L Julian Dr, Greencastle, IN 46135). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, May 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St Paul the Apostle Catholic Church (202 E Washington St, Greencastle, IN 46135).
