Shirley Jean Smith Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Jean Smith of Colfax, Indiana, who passed away on October 30, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Floyd William and Lois Maxine Fitzsimmons (Winslow); her husband Joe Smith; her brother Willie Fitzsimmons; and her stepson Joseph Smith.

She is survived by: her son James Williams Smith (Mary) of Frankfort; her sisters, Lois Mae Swank of Crawfordsville and Mary Jane Renick (Jerry) of Crawfordsville; and her grandchildren, Ashley Stevens (Matt), Brett Haling, Tyler Smith (Krista), Sadie Smith, Tori Smith and Jaci Coyle. She is also survived by 8 greatgrandchildren.
