We are sad to announce that on July 1, 2023, at the age of 80, DeWayne Franklin Smith of Columbia City, Indiana, born in Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Howard Smith and Mabel Irene Smith (George); his brother Gary Smith; his brother-in-law Roy Sandlin; and his nephew Daniel Smith Cartwright.

He is survived by : his sisters, Barbara Cartwright (Richard) of Churubusco, Karen Sandlin of Huntington and Toni Brewster (Kenneth) of Rockwood; his niece Carmen Cartwright of Churubusco; his nephews, Troy Sandlin of Huntington, Andrew Cartwright (Sonya Clark) of Denver, CO, Israel Brewster (Becca) of Alaska and Micah Brewster of Idaho; and his great-nieces, Cassidy Ann Sandlin and Alyssa Cartwright.
