He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Vernon and Mary Pilling; his wife Marilyn Pilling; his children, Jeni Miller (Zach) and David Pilling; his grandsons, Jacob, Jackson Miller and Landon Pilling; his siblings, Olive Gautier, Mary Howey (Bob) and Gary Pilling Sr. (Becky); his sister-in-law Phyllis Pilling; and his siblings, Linda Smith (George), Danny Grimes (Vickie), Rick Grimes (Jayne), Bob Grimes (Carol), Randy Grimes, Greg Grimes (Deb), Cathy McNeil, Paul, Vernon Jr., Howard, John, Earnest and Jimmy.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 17th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services (6557 N Clinton St, Fort Wayne, IN 46825).
