We announce the death of Max L. Hart of Columbia City, Indiana, who passed away on July 20, 2026, at the age of 81. Max will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Hart and Maebelle Hart (Marquardt); his former wife Linda Gleckler; his wife Jessica Webster; his son James Leroy Hart; and his siblings, Pat Adkison, Diana Gerardot, Robert Hart and James Hart.
He is survived by: his children, Tammy Wenger (Kevin) of Monroeville, Indiana and Christopher Hart (Amy) of Monroeville, Indiana; his girlfriend Janet Shroyer of Churubusco, Indiana; his brothers, John Hart of Monroeville and Bill Hart of Tamarack, Florida; his brother-in-law Don Gerardot of Monroeville, Indiana; and his grandchildren, Joshua Hart, Alisha Hart, Levi Hart, LaLinda Schaber (Jeremy), Amanda Lee (Shane), Logan Hart (Aryanna), Justyn Hart and Meagan Hart. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
Memorials can be given to Monroeville Fire Department or American Legion Post #420 of Monroeville.
