He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Gordon S. Hayes and Pauline Louise Fanning Hayes; his wife Julia Hayes; his sons, David Hayes of Columbia City and Joseph Hayes (Gregory Bowman) of North Manchester; his brother Gordon Hayes (Coleen) of Collamer; and his stepsister Susie Griffiths of Fort Wayne.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the DeMoney Grimes Funeral Home (600 Countryside Dr, Columbia City, IN 46725). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
