She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Johnson and Augusta Tankersley; her husband Robert Hedger; her siblings, Thelma Brown, Flossie Everett, Lucretia Jones, Nora Clark, Granville Johnson, Oscar Johnson and Pearl Johnson; her nephews, Kenneth Brown and Roger Jones; and her niece Denise Johnson.

She is survived by: her children, Robert Hedger (Cindy), Michael Hedger (Paula) and Edwina Hedger; and her grandchildren, Sarah Hedger, Robert Hedger, Elaine Hedger, Megan Hedger, Candace Brandenburg (John), Michael Hedger (Dayna), Elizabeth Roberson (John), Eric Hedger, Dustin Renner (Cari) and Sam Renner (Claudia). She is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren.
