Eileen Wakefield Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Eileen Wakefield of Columbus, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 16, 2025 at the age of 98. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Eileen Wakefield to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Glenn Thomas Hammond and Iola Maude Janeway Hammond; her husband Clifford R. Wakefield; her brother Richard Lee Hammond; and her daughter-in-law Marilyn Wakefield.
She is survived by: her sons, Glenn T. Wakefield (Shelly) of Columbus, IN., David R. Wakefield of Columbus, IN. and Kevin L. Wakefield (Dena) of Tucson, AZ; her sister Catherine Norma Hammond Barringer; her grandchildren, Travis, Jennifer, Jason, Kristin, Ashley, Jeremy, Donavon and Danielle; her great grandchildren, Sierra, Morgan, Devon, Desierae, Noah, Jayden, Jaxon, Michael, Joey, Ethan, Sophie and Leo; and her great great grandchildren, Maelee June, Hailey and Madison.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, November 21st 2025 at 9:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Friday, November 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Rittman Family Funeral Home (3855 25th St, Columbus, IN 47203).
Memorial contributions may be made to Homeview Health and Rehabilitation Center in Franklin, IN through the funeral home.
