He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Line Sr. and Elizabeth Byerley Line; his former wives, Evelyn Padgett Line, Marilyn Ostick Line and Maxine Rager Line; his son James F. Line; his stepson Dave Rager; his son-in-law Pete Hoagland; his siblings, Earl Line, John Line, Herb Line, Irvin Kintner, Dorothy Haddix, Martha Nichols and Blanch Lind; and his granddaughter Brittany Line.

He is survived by: his wife Jacqueline Line; his children, Beverly Hoagland of Columbus and John Line (Ann) of Indianapolis; his grandchildren, John Line II of Massachusetts, Kevin Line of Bloomington, Breanna Line of Indianapolis and Kristina Line of Massachusetts; his stepchildren, Trent Nentrup (Jan) of Columbus, Jad Nentrup (Vickie) of Columbus, Guy Nentrup (Vicki) of North Vernon, Jill Nentrup Perry of Westport, Steve Rager of Florida, Mike Rager of Florida, Dan Rager of Columbus and Karen Penrod of Columbus; and his siblings, Buryl Line (Betty) of Columbus and Alma McQueen of Hope. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren.
