She was predeceased by: her parents, Glenn Russell and Martha Russell (Goins); her daughter Kelly Brown; and her half-brother James Kirts. She is survived by: her husband Gene Brown; her son Robert Brown (Betsy) of Columbus; her siblings, William Russell (Nan) of Columbus and Vicki Nentrup (Jad) of Columbus; her grandchildren, Zach Smith of Columbus, Megan Carmer (Daniel) of Columbus and Benjamin Brown (Rosalind) of North Vernon; and her great grandchildren, Addison and Hudson Carmer. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Christian Church (531 5th St, Columbus, IN 47201). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials in her name are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association Indiana Chapter or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
