He was predeceased by: his parents, Harley Burton Tillis and Bessie Lorene Trimnell; his brother Jimmie Bruce Tillis; his former wife Charlene Armistead Tillis; his daughter Linda Windham Wells; and his great grandchild Callie Payne.
He is survived by: his wife Jannis Clines Tillis; his children, Harley Donald Tillis Jr. (Stephanie), Steven Bruce Tillis (Kelley), Jason Lee Tillis (Nicole), Jeremie Shawn Tillis, Sandra Tillis Reising (Keith), Haley Tillis Ladd (Gary) and Hollie Tillis (Andy); his grandchildren, Steven (Lori), Donald (Natalie), Michael (Kelly), Trey, Phillip, Zachary, Justin, Kai, Jewel (Nathaniel), Tiffany (Chad), Rachel (Zach), Crystal, Phoebe, Payton (Keyan), Brooklyn, Reese, Anaya and Kendall; and his great grandchildren, Casey, Aiden, Isaac, Oakley, Brayden, Hudson, Cori, Jenna, Mary Kate, Macynn and EraBella.
